The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is one of the main English Proficiency test that candidates take up to prove their language expertise. PTE is system-based test and all modules (Reading, Writing, Listening and speaking) are conducted on computer and focuses on assessing the ability of communicating in English, rather than test-taking skills.
The test uses real-life material and tasks, such as writing messages, understanding talks and newspaper articles, or participating in conversation.
The test is designed to assess the readiness of non-native English speakers to participate in a university-level English language instruction program.
Results are typically available within five business days. Computer based marking ensures all test takers are scored impartially and accurately.

PTE Academic is a computer-based English language test aimed at non-native English speakers who want to study abroad.
PTE General used to assess the English language proficiency and consists of a written paper and an interview.
Students can appear for PTE academic any number of times.
However, they must receive the score of their previous test before applying for the next one. Score is valid up to 2 years.

Reading Module : This is a 50 to 60 minutes test, comprising of questions such as multiple-choice question – Multiple Answers, multiple choice question – Single Answer, Re-order paragraphs, Fill in the blanks (Reading), Fill in the blanks (Reading and writing).
Listening Module : This is a 40 to 50 minutes test and contains questions types such as summarize spoken text, Multiple choice question – Multiple Answers, multiple choice question – Single Answer, Fill in the blanks, Highlight correct summary, select missing words, highlight incorrect words and write from dictation.
Speaking Module : This Module has a variety of questions like read aloud, repeat sentence, describe image, re- tell A lecture and answer short questions.
Writing Module : This Module has 2 questions types – summarize written text and write essay.
PTE Academic is scored against the Global Scale of English, a thermometer-style scale that gives you an accurate overview of your skills. The Global Scale of English aligns with a variety of popular tests and scales around the world.
