What is PTE?
also known as PTE, is an English language proficiency test of candidates who are not natives of an English-speaking country. It is an entirely computer-based test. It is scored from 10 points to a maximum of 90 points, at an increment of 1 point. The score report has an overall score, and separate scores are also given between 10 to 90 to each of the skills of – Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing.
Those who are thinking about studying abroad have to qualify for this test. The test is accepted in nearly 3000 courses worldwide in English-speaking countries like the UK, Australia, USA and Canada. The PTE score that you should be aiming at will depend upon the course you are applying for.
The Pearson Test of English Academic is an English language test designed to assess the readiness of non-native English speakers to participate in a university-level English language instruction program. Pearson created PTE Academic in response to demand from institutions, government, and other organizations for a more accurate way of testing non-native English language students who enter the English-speaking academia world.

The Pearson Tests of English (PTE) Academic can be taken up by anyone who wishes to move to an English-speaking country for international study and immigration purposes. The test taker must be of age 16 or above and must have a valid passport
The PTE exam syllabus is as follows: Speaking and Writing - This section includes a personal introduction, reading given passages aloud, describing images, short answer questions, summarising given text and essay writing. Reading - The Reading section consists of multiple-choice questions, rearranging passages in sequential order and filling in the blanks. Listening - The Listening section comprises multiple-choice questions, filling in the blanks, dictation, picking the right summary / incorrect word
PTE Academic test format has three components: Part 1: Speaking & Writing Part 2: Reading Part 3: Listening
The total number of hours given to complete the PTE exam is 3 hours
Pearson does not have any restrictions on the number of times a candidate can take the exam.
Only your passport is needed for IELTS test registration. The passport must not be expired, and it is advisable to have at least six months until the passport's expiration.
